About Zinavraa™
Zinavraa™ is a created word that draws from three layered roots. Zina — adornment that is intelligent, not excessive. Avra — presence that is felt, not declared. Avar — the journey of something moving into new territory. Together they describe exactly what the brand makes: clothing that carries something considered without announcing it. Adornment that breathes.
No. That is precisely the gap Zinavraa was founded to close. Indian craft — Chikankari in particular — has long been positioned almost exclusively as ethnic or occasion wear. Zinavraa was built on a different belief: that Indian craft does not inherently belong to ethnic categories. It belongs wherever people live their everyday modern lives. The silhouettes are contemporary. The embroidery is placed architecturally not in the all-over layouts of traditional Indian garments. These are clothes for your week, not for a ceremony.
Contemporary silhouettes that carry Indian craft with intention. Every garment begins with the question of fit, proportion, and how the fabric feels before how it photographs. Embroidery enters only where it adds something to the structure of the garment — not to its surface alone. The result is clothing designed for modern wardrobes: emotionally resonant, versatile, and built for repeat wear.
Ethnic wear treats craft as a category signal. Fast fashion treats clothing as a disposable transaction. Zinavraa sits at neither extreme. The craft is real — Lucknow Chikankari, placed with care. The silhouettes are genuinely contemporary — shirts, dresses, coords, trousers , skirt designed for the way people actually move through their days. The intention is a garment you reach for instinctively, that works across your week, and that holds its value the longer you wear it.
Because coherence matters more than choice. Each collection is developed with attention to how the pieces relate to each other — in silhouette, proportion, fabric, and embroidery placement. A smaller edit done with discipline is more useful to a real wardrobe than hundreds of options that fragment the point of view. Zinavraa collections are also produced in limited quantities, which is a function of the craft involved — not a marketing device.
That is what a well-made garment should do. Modern life does not sort itself into occasions. People move across work, travel, social settings, and personal time without changing wardrobes at each transition. Zinavraa garments are designed to move with that reality — silhouettes that are not coded for any single context, fabrics chosen for how they feel across a full day, embroidery that adds distinction without making the garment situational.
In our embroidery language, the intention is not decoration — it is design. Heavily ornate embroidery works for occasions where the garment is the statement. Zinavraa is for everyday wearing, where the garment should support you, not precede you into the room. The embroidery is placed where it adds something to the architecture of the garment — a shoulder seam, a collar edge, a cuff — not spread across the surface for visual weight. The result is clothing that carries craft without becoming costume.
The current collection is women's — Spring Summer 2026 launches with contemporary silhouettes designed for women. Men's is a category we are building toward. When it arrives, it will carry the same logic: contemporary silhouettes, Chikankari placed with intention, nothing coded for ceremony. If you want to know when men's launches, the best way is to be on our list.
Fabric & Craftsmanship
Zinavraa is rooted in Lucknow. Some of the garments are stitched in factories outside Lucknow and some are cut and stitched in the city. These are then passed onto Lucknow's Chikankari artisans for hand embroidery. This is done in village clusters around the city or centers across old Lucknow. The supply chain does not travel far — and that proximity is deliberate. The craft is local, the production is local, and the intention is to keep it that way as the brand grows. Finally the garments are QC tested in our warehouse and made ready for despatch.
Fabric is not an afterthought at Zinavraa — it is where the garment begins. The question we ask first is: how does this feel against the skin? Polyester-heavy blends often compromise breathability, drape, and the way a garment falls with wear. We choose fabrics for how they move, how they feel across a full day, and how they age with repeated washing. The fabric choice is part of the craft, not a cost decision.
The Chikankari embroidery on every Zinavraa garment is hand-done — as it always has been in the tradition. This means each piece carries the small, irreducible distinctiveness of something made by a person, not a machine. Finishing and construction methods vary by garment; specific details are noted on each product page.
Yes, and they are expected. Handwork produces variation — in thread tension, stitch density, and the precise placement of motifs. These are not defects. They are the evidence of craft. A Zinavraa garment with a thread that sits slightly differently from another is not a lesser garment — it is a hand-made one. We check every piece before it leaves for consistent quality, but we do not mistake uniformity for excellence.
Screens interpret colour differently. Photography involves light conditions that differ from your room. And fabric dye — particularly in natural and semi-natural textiles — carries inherent variation between batches. We work to photograph our garments in natural light to represent colour as accurately as possible, but a slight variation between image and garment is normal and not a basis for return. If you are deciding between colours, we are happy to assist — write to us at support@zinavraa.com before placing your order.
Handcrafted embroidery rewards a little mindfulness. Wash gently in cold water with a mild detergent — hand wash is ideal for embroidered pieces. Avoid bleach or harsh chemicals. Dry in shade, away from direct sunlight, which can fade both fabric and thread over time. When ironing, place a soft cloth over any embroidered section. The garment care label will have specific guidance for each piece. Treated with basic care, a Zinavraa garment is designed to be worn and worn again — for years, not seasons.
Sizing & Fit
Zinavraa size labels refer to garment measurements, not body measurements. As a starting point: choose a size that is at least 2 inches above your fullest body measurement — so if your bust is 34 inches, begin with Size 36. Same is the case for waist measurements for bottoms. This allows for the ease of movement and fall the silhouette is designed around. We strongly recommend checking the size chart on each product page, as fit varies by silhouette and fabric. If you are unsure, write to us before ordering — we would rather help you get the right size than process an unnecessary exchange.
Both, depending on the piece. Zinavraa silhouettes are developed with movement and proportion as the primary considerations — not a single fit standard. Some styles are more relaxed; others have a cleaner, more structured line. Each product page specifies the intended fit. When in doubt, go up a size — the garments are designed to carry ease well.
Yes, and this is worth understanding. Different fabrics drape and fall differently — a soft georgette will behave differently from a woven cotton, even in the same silhouette. Handcrafted elements introduce small variations in finished measurements. These differences are subtle and are part of what makes each piece individual rather than replicated.
Pricing & Product Value
Zinavraa garments are priced between ₹2,500 and ₹5,000. The price reflects fabric selection, silhouette development, hand embroidery by Lucknow artisans, finishing, and limited production quantities. This is not fast fashion pricing — and it is not luxury pricing either. It is the honest cost of a garment made with care, in small numbers, by hand, designed to be worn for years rather than seasons. Measured against cost per wear across a wardrobe lifetime, a Zinavraa piece is one of the more considered purchases you can make at this price point.
The price reflects what goes into making each piece: the fabric selection, the silhouette development, the hand embroidery, the finishing, and the limited quantities each collection is produced in. Zinavraa is not priced against fast fashion — it is priced against the value of a garment you will wear for years, that carries genuine craft, and that is made in small enough numbers to remain considered. If you are comparing price per wear across a wardrobe lifetime, a Zinavraa piece competes differently than it does at the point of first purchase.
Probably not in identical form. Zinavraa collections are produced in limited quantities and exact fabric and embroidery combinations are not guaranteed to repeat — both because of how handcraft production works, and because the brand moves forward with each collection rather than restocking indefinitely. If a piece you want is available, that is the moment to have it. If it sells out, we will let our email subscribers know first when something related or equivalent arrives.
Every Zinavraa garment is dispatched with a return seal — a small, closed plastic tag attached to the button or garment label. It is placed deliberately: in a position that makes it noticeable or slightly uncomfortable if the garment is worn. This is not bureaucracy. It is how we protect the integrity of our process — ensuring that garments returned to us are genuinely unworn, so that the next customer receives something as considered as the first.
If you receive your garment and decide it is not right for you, keep the seal intact and write to us within the return window. Once the seal is removed — or if it has been tampered with — the garment is no longer eligible for return or exchange. When in doubt about size or fit, write to us before you order. We would rather help you get it right the first time.
